Trenton, ON – Congratulations are in order to the team at Tomasso’s Italian Grille in Trenton, Ontario for achieving Feast OnÔ designation from the Culinary Tourism Alliance.
Being Feast OnÔ designated is a demonstration of their significant sourcing of Ontario grown, raised and made food & drink products. They are the first restaurant to achieve this status in Trenton.
Feast On designees are committed to increasing local food procurement province-wide; developing Ontario’s culinary identity; celebrating Ontario’s food and drink champions; and educating the public on the amazing products grown, processed, and prepared in Ontario. Foodservice establishments, like Tomasso’s Italian Grille who have received the designation are also rewarded for participating in community events, food education, and awareness campaigns; as well are partnering with regional local food groups.
MPP Lou Rinaldi, ambassador for the program in Northumberland-Quinte West, was on hand at Tomasso’s Italian Grille to officially present the team with their coveted ‘Feast On Spoon’ – a symbol of their designation – on September 30th, 2016 at 3:00pm.
“Congratulations to Tomasso’s Italian Grille. They have been a premier restaurant since they opened their doors. This Feast On designation cements that reputation. When restaurants such as Tomasso’s make the commitment to source food locally, we all benefit. Buying Ontario means, as a patron, you know you’re getting the best products available anywhere.”
- Lou Rinaldi, M.P.P., Northumberland-Quinte West
