Quinte West, ON: Oak Hills Golf Course gets ready for its 50th Anniversary next year with new ownership and a complete overhaul of the facilities including an extensive golf course improvement plan and large renovations of the club house. Andrew Gunning took over ownership of the club earlier this year, and brings with him years of experience owning and operating Farnsworth Construction Ltd., a well-known home construction company in the Quinte area. Andrew and his family live in Quinte West and he appreciates the support and involvement from his wife Nicole Bosiak with their business enterprises. “Since purchasing Oak Hills Golf Course we have been working on an ambitious list of renovations to bring back the excellence that made Oak Hills a well-known golf symbol in the Quinte Area,” said new owner Andrew Gunning. “With our superb staff and the beautiful landscapes, we are on track to be one of the top golf destinations in the area.”
The standards at the new Oak Hills Golf Course have been set high and the list of changes includes: a major tidy up of the course; proper course maintenance; irrigation repairs with a proper irrigation program; proper fertilizing and cutting program in place; exterior club house facelift; proper cart maintenance and additional new carts added to the fleet; new entrance signage and branding; new paved driveway, landscaping and new main entrance. “Along with all the other changes the main floor of the club house has gone through a major modernization and is a must see, this is now an open concept space that will blow you away,” said Gunning. “We are not done yet we are planning work on the tee decks for this fall and will continue to make the investments needed to ensure golfers can enjoy the hospitality of our staff along with the graceful beauty of our facility.”
Oak Hills is the only course in the area with 36 holes, making it an exceptional venue for tournaments and outings.
