Trenton, ON: Spring arrived just in time for the Quinte West Home and Leisure show and after such a cold, wet spring it was very welcomed. The Show presented Brenda Simpson of Brighton a cheque for $1000 at the Chamber of Commerce office on May 12th. Ms Simpson was the lucky winner at the Show in April and will be spending her winnings with one of our vendors, Signature Landscape Concepts to get some brick work done in her back yard. Brenda Simpson was just one of 2000 visitors who came out over the weekend, and filled in a free ballot for the Home Show Bucks. Winners of the Home Show Bucks can spend their winnings at any of the vendors from the show this year.
“It was a great show again this year,” says Quinte West Chamber Manger Suzanne Andrews. “Our numbers were down about 10% compared to the last couple of years, but despite this over 2/3 of the vendors said they did the same or more business at the show than previous years so it seemed to have worked out well for them. We are already reserving booths for next year and with the show being able to move back onto our regular weekend at the middle of the month we feel we can get the numbers back up for next year.”
