Quinte West All Candidate Night
Trenton, ON: The Quinte West Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Municipal All Candidate Night on Monday October 6 at Trenton High School. This will be an opportunity for residents in Quinte West to meet all of the councillor candidates running in all the wards in Quinte West including Trenton, Sidney, Murray and Frankford. The moderator for this event will be John Spitters, a reporter from Quinte Broadcasting.
“The Quinte West Chamber feels that All Candidate Nights are important and we are pleased to be able to host this event which gives an opportunity for everyone to come out, meet the candidates and get engaged in the election,” says Quinte West Chamber president Dave Fairfield. “There are a lot of candidates challenging the incumbents for a seat around the council table this time and a challenge over who will become the new Mayor of Quinte West so it is important that we have a good voter turnout this time. The City has made it easier to vote than ever with the introduction of online voting so there is no real excuse for residents not to exercise their right to vote.”
The doors will open at 6pm with the councillor presentations starting at 6:30pm in the main auditorium.. After the councillor candidates have completed their 2 minute platform presentations at 7:15pm then the Mayoral Candidates will take the stage. They will have a chance to introduce themselves and their election platforms and then there will be a live debate on the relevant issues with questions coming from the audience.
At 8:15pm immediately following the live debate there will be a meet and greet in the lobby with all the councillor candidates. All candidates will be given a table in the lobby according to the Ward they are running in and residents are invited to meet with the candidates and ask their individual questions.
All registered candidates will be given an opportunity to participate. Because of the numbers of registered candidates this evening will not include the candidates for school board trustees.
If you require more information on this event or if you would like to send in your question prior to the debate you can contact the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce at 613-392-7635 or manager@quintewestchamber.ca
