Trenton, ON: The Grand Opening of ‘SOX IT TO ME’ is bringing full circle the career of store owner Andrew Josey who has over 20 years’ experience in the sock business. He started in Trenton at a local sock company then moved to Toronto and has been in the industry to date.
“I have wanted to try my hand at owning my own store for some time,” notes Mr. Josey, “having grown up here and seeing how great this town is I thought this would be the best place to open my first store. My mother still lives here and with her 50 years of retail experience she is going to do a great job of managing the store for me.”
The main line brand being sold at SOX IT TO ME is Point Zero, a well-respected company that makes good quality and very fashionable line of products. They sell new born socks; and baby sock of all sizes; as well as a wide variety of styles and colours for women, men and children. They also sell a very large selection of Wellness socks, which are regularly purchased and worn by persons who are diabetic and prefer to have a loose fit at the top of the sock to allow for Blood Circulation.
Besides regular socks the store carries a large selection of ‘Leggins’ for young girls and women; leg warmers; women’s pantyhose, girls tights which are suitable for school; knee socks and the ‘over the Knee’ socks which are very popular with young people. They also have a good selection of accessories including: scarves; hats; gloves; umbrellas; and sock slippers.
“Our prices are excellent and very competitive,” says store manager Pat Josey. “We have some items that we sell as singles and the prices on those will vary but we offer great value bundles like Women’s sock’s that start at $ 3.99 a pair or 3 pairs for 9.99; or our Men’s socks that are $ 4.99 a pair or 3 pairs for 10.99.”
In the spring time SOX IT TO ME will be adding some new exciting clothing lines and bathing suits for the winter vacationer and snowbirds. But for now Christmas is coming fast and the sales staff are ready to help you find that special gift and attractive stocking stuffers.
“Wonderful to see a new retailer open up in downtown Trenton just in time for the Christmas Shopping Season,” says chamber manager Suzanne Andrews. “New specialty businesses like this are just what our downtown needs and I hope everyone will stop in and remembers to shop local when they can.”
