RE: Go Active opens for business in Quinte West
Quinte West, ON: Go Active is a new business in Quinte West providing adventure coaching, activity programs and wellness products for individuals and families of all ages. They offer stand up paddle boarding lessons and tours, urban adventure programs, customized coaching and excursions, and whole-made, healthy snack products. They are a quality leader in the industry committed to exceeding customer expectations. The programs being offered by Go Active run through-out Trenton, Quinte West, Brighton and the Prince Edward County regions, year-round, 7 days a week from sunrise to sunset.
Cheryl Borecky the owner/operator of Go Active relocated to the Quinte West region in 2013 with her young son and RCAF SAR Tech husband. “When we arrived in Quinte West we quickly started exploring the surrounding waters and green spaces by foot, bike and skis,” says Borecky. “We asked about the hidden gems of the area and wondered why more people weren't outside being active. We soon learnt that people didn't have the equipment, the motivation, the know-how or the confidence to spend more time with their family outdoors. And the rest is history, Go Active was born”.
“With over 15 years in the outdoor recreation, adventure and education fields Cheryl Borecky knew it was time to share her passions and expertise with her new community,” says Chamber manger Suzanne Andrews. “Her vision for her company is a good fit for Quinte West where we have branded ourselves as a ‘Natural Attraction’ and where we focus on attracting young, adventuresome families to live and visit here. Her experience includes working within government, non-profit and small business sectors and the timing was perfect to realize her dream of opening her own business”.
Go Active is part of the Trenton Outdoor Demo Day on June 22 which will take place on the banks of the Trent River. It will be located in Kiwanis Park at the facilities of the Trenton Rowing and Paddling Club. “This is a chance for us to gather with like-minded businesses and showcase what this community has to offer,” says Borecky. “It is the perfect opportunity to officially launch Go Active and invite the public down to demo everything from stand up paddle boarding, to running, and mountain biking, to CrossFit, canoeing & kayaking, yoga and athletic therapies and massage. We are very excited for this free community event and hope to see lots of keen families and individuals at the waterfront enjoying all we have planned”.
