Quinte West, ON: A new business has opened up in the Quinte Region called Brighton RV Spa that specializes in getting Camping and Travel Trailers along with Recreational Vehicles ready for the summer season. It offers exterior and interior cleaning and detailing services to private owners, dealerships and rental companies from throughout the Northumberland and Quinte area.
Owner Amanda Arends grew up living on the border of Quinte West and Brighton and always knew that one day she would own her own business. “My childhood was steeped in the entrepreneurial spirit of my grandparents Bill and Shirley Bigford of Bigford Building Products,” says Amanda. “My husband Ron and I along with our three boys love the outdoors and camping and this business was a natural fit for me. Ron has his own company Cottages on Wheels Camping Trailer Rentals that he has been operating for three years so I am following in his footsteps and he is able to provide with me a lot of insight into the needs of this market. I have received great support from Trenval and the furturpreneur program and I am looking forward to getting this business going.”
Brighton RV Spa is open year round and offers detailing services to all makes and models of trailers and recreational vehicles and specializes in: canvas replacements; mildew stain removal; mildew prevention treatments; minor repairs; window treatment repair and replacement; rodent prevention and clean up. “Maintaining your trailer will extend its life, and increase its resale or trade in value when you're ready for a change,” states Amanda. “Don’t let your trailer care become a big chore as this will stop you from enjoying it as much, if you have questions let us know as we want to help.”
“Given all the campgrounds in the area and all the people in Quinte West that love to camp and explore outdoor places I think these types of services will in demand,” says Quinte West chamber manager Suzanne Andrews. “In the past couple of years there have been more and more businesses & organizations opening up to support the soft adventure market that is seeing significant growth in the region.”
