Owner Richelle McCallum, who moved to Northumberland four years ago, brings her experience as a packaging supervisor in a butcher shop to this new venture. After meeting co-owner Robyn Craig, a well-established raw pet food store owner in Grafton, the two quickly realized they shared a common passion for pet nutrition. “From the moment we found this space, we knew that Quinte West was the perfect location for our store,” Richelle shared. “We’re proud to provide products we trust and to be part of such a supportive local community.”
The Butcher’s Best Friend offers a wide range of local raw pet food products, including beef, pork, chicken, rabbit, duck, and turkey, with a special focus on keeping proteins separate to accommodate pets with allergies. In addition to high-quality meats, the store also provides a variety of treats. Richelle and Robyn are committed to helping pet owners make the transition from kibble to raw feeding, offering personalized education and support to ensure that pets enjoy a healthier, more natural diet. Their mission is to provide products they trust, ensuring their customers receive safe, locally produced options for their pets.
