Quinte West KFC Fans Say Makeover is “So Good”New KFC on Dundas Street East Celebrates Grand Opening on August 14th
Quinte West now boasts one of Canada’s newest and most updated KFC restaurants – and operators Soul Restaurants confirms the community response has been even more positive than expected.
“We’ve been amazed and delighted by how much local KFC fans love our new look and family-friendly feel,” says Greg Milne, COO, for Soul Restaurants, the restaurant group that owns more than 200 KFCs across Canada. “Quinte West is a wonderful community and we’re pleased to be supporting the community with ongoing investment and continuing KFC’s long-time tradition as a local gathering spot,” says Greg.
“Our famous Original Recipe chicken recipe will never change – and now, local KFC fans can enjoy our trademark 11 herbs and spices in a much more contemporary, bright and welcoming dining room,” says Darrell Sween, Regional Director of Operations for Soul Restaurants.
The newly built restaurant is welcoming the community on August 14th at its official Grand Opening; with an official ribbon cutting and dedication by The City of Quinte West Mayor John Williams – and a month of special offers and deals.

KFC has recruited 29 part-time and 6 full-time cooks and cashiers to run the new restaurant, while a local team of 6 continue to operate the KFC restaurant on Front Street.
“Our dedicated team of employees is responsible for offering high caliber of service to our customers,” says Melanie Schwager, Area Manager for Soul Restaurants. “We’re proud that Alex Mahar, last year’s starting shortstop for Team Ontario Baseball 16Under division, is part of that dedicated team. His all-star record and personality makes him a favourite among our customers,” says Schwager.
Greg says that the newly built Trenton KFC on Dundas Street East is part of a multi-million dollar investment in the brand, which first debuted in Canada in 1956. The 3300 square foot restaurant took approximately 2 months to complete; and features a state-of-the-art drive-thru and a bright, airy dining room that can seat up to 68 guests.
“KFC is all about warmth and Southern-inspired friendliness, so we’ve added a lot of rich red accents, together with more contemporary wood finishes, so the feel at our new Trenton restaurant on Dundas Street is very comfortable and inviting,” says Tony Vieira, Director of Development for Soul Restaurants. The entire restaurant has been built with sustainability in mind, so we installed energy-saving LED lights, electronic menu boards and more efficient kitchen appliances, and cookers, says Tony.
Kathleen Sween, Marketing Manager of Soul Restaurants says the new Quinte West KFC is offering a month of great deals daily from 11am – 2pm to celebrate the new opening. KFC lovers can enjoy a signature combo lunch for one meal for $5.99 – which includes choice of KFC Twister, popcorn or new Mini Boneless Filets with a regular soft drink and fries. Lunch for 2 deals are priced starting at $10.99 – and three can lunch for $17.99 until October 6th. Fans can purchase KFC at the restaurant, Dundas Street East drive-thru; or use KFC’s new online ordering system at KFC.ca. The restaurant also offers home delivery.
