Hello Everyone,
Well it is that time of year again when I send out an invite to our local businesses (i.e. manufacturing, retail, service, tourism, government or not-for-profit) asking them if they would like some help from Loyalist College business students. If yes, then I ask them to please participate in one of the two upcoming Loyalist College School of Business Community Projects “Show & Tell” events.
I have some exciting news to share about the skill sets and personal passions of the students who will be working on the Community Projects during the upcoming Winter semester. In addition to the 4th semester Business Administration students (who are interested in helping your organizations to overcome challenges within your Administration, HR, Marketing, Social Media, Event Coordination, Operations and/or … departments), there are also 2nd semester Post Graduate Project Management students who have a wide range of Engineering Degrees through to a student who has his Masters of Pharmacy in Quality Assurance. These Post Grad students have a wide background in disciplines ranging from: (i) Mechanical Engineering, (ii) Design, Fabrication and Production Engineering, (iii) Mechatronics, (iv) Communications, Software, Electronics, and Control Systems, (v) Quality Assurance, and (vi) Construction and Building Maintenance. If you are looking for some help in addressing the business-related challenges that your team face on a day to day basis by tapping into new, innovative business improvement ideas then it sounds like it is time for you to present your business needs/project opportunities to the Loyalist College Community Project class (i.e. 4th semester Business Admin. students and the 2nd semester Post Grad Project Management students). Company representatives who act now by replying to this email to reserve their presentation time slot will be presenting their project opportunities on either the morning of Friday February 16th or the morning of Friday February 23rd between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Please talk to your peers about the types of challenges which your organization are facing and the project opportunities that your team would like to have completed during the Winter 2017 semester (February – April). If you would like to book a presentation time slot on one of these two Fridays please reply to this email as soon as possible with your preferred day and preferred time slot. The available time slots will be booked up on a first come/first serve basis. Please pass this invitation onto other Bay of Quinte businesses that you feel would be interested in having some Loyalist College Business students and Post Grad Project Management students help them out.
Reply now and book your presentation time slot on either the morning of Friday February 16th or Friday February 23rd between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Once the presentation time slots have been booked I will send out an email to all of the participating company representatives explaining all of the details for the event. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I would like to thank each of you for your consideration with this request; I look forward to hearing about the challenges that our Business and PM students can work on for your businesses (free of charge).
