A new chapter in sustainable shopping has arrived in Quinte West with the opening of Second Spin Thrift, founded by local entrepreneur Darryl McCaw. Inspired by his work with Renewal Squared Inc., a textile recycling company, McCaw saw the potential to extend the life of quality clothing while reducing textile waste. “Through Renewal Squared, I realized just how much perfectly good clothing ends up in landfills,” said McCaw. “Second Spin Thrift is my way of helping build a circular economy, offering affordable options for families, and making a real environmental impact in the community my family and I call home.”
Second Spin Thrift offers a wide range of quality used clothing for all ages, along with household goods in a clean, bright, and organized space designed to make second-hand shopping both enjoyable and affordable. With a focus on offering lower prices than other national thrift chains, Second Spin Thrift wants to ensure that customers not only find great deals but also support a local business with a mission. Every purchase helps keep textiles out of landfills, promotes sustainability, and gives back to the community through support of local causes.
Second Spin Thrift is located at 390 Sidney St. Trenton (next to Motosports of Trenton). They are open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
