Enjoy a concert by Juno nominated artist Ryland James while exploring local vendors at the Side Hustle Market during The Grind and Vine’s Falling into Fall event on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 3-7 p.m.
Falling into Fall is a celebration of The Grind and Vine’s one-year anniversary and owner Taylor Russett says it’s about bringing friends, food, music and local products together.
“We are partnering with some amazing local businesses to bring a focus on Quinte West local products,” says Russett, featuring the Side Hustle Market with a variety of creators, makers and vendors.
Featuring a local wine, beer and cider menu along with charcuterie boards with local meats, cheeses, breads and spreads, there is sure to be something for everyone.
The event will have a capacity of about 200 people as The Grind and Vine’s patio will be extended throughout the municipal parking lot where the Front Street Farmers’ Market is held.
Suzanne Andrews, CEO of the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce, says she’s pleased the Chamber is co-hosting the Side Hustle Market.
“We have seen a number of Side Hustles grow into viable full-time businesses in the past few years and this market is a way we can support these entrepreneurs at this stage of their journey,” says Andrews.
Ryland James, 22, is a singer from Deseronto whose 2019 hit single “In My Head” reached gold in Canada in less than six months and is now certified platinum.
Russett says he has been a fan of James’ for a while now and is excited to be able to bring him to downtown Trenton.
“I heard him coming up, he had a very popular song last summer that I could not stop playing, so from then on I’ve followed his journey through music and he’s come out with some really good stuff,” says Russett.
Falling into Fall, sponsored by Shop Quinte West, an initiative to support small businesses throughout the community, is the first big event Russett is hosting but he said it definitely won’t be his last as he has some exciting plans for the upcoming Christmas season and beyond.
The Side Hustle Market is open from 3-7 p.m. and is free to attend. The Grind and Vine patio and concert space will open at 3 p.m. for ticket holders and Ryland James will perform at the main concert from 4-5 p.m.
Tickets are available here or through the Grind and Vine’s website or Facebook page and tables of two, four or six can be reserved along with bring your own chair tickets available for purchase. Proof of vaccination is required to attend.
