RE: Paul Whitley Honoured at Chamber President’s Dinner
Quinte West, ON: The Quinte West Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its 2017 President’s Dinner and AGM on Thursday, March 23 at Occasions by the Bay in Bayside. This is a special night in Quinte West where the business community comes together to recognise the accomplishments of its Chamber, the success of its business community and to pay their respects to this year’s Honourary Life Time Membership recipient Paul Whitley.
“It is our honour this year to recognize businessman Paul Whitley with a Honourary Lifetime Membership,” says Quinte West Chamber president Mike Colasante. “As well as heading up a well respected and successful business in the region Paul has really made a difference in the community over the years through his volunteerism, generous donations and project leadership.”
Paul Whitley is well known throughout the Quinte Region as the Chairman of Whitley Insurance & Financial Services, which has 4 offices and 40 staff in the area. He also chaired the City of Quinte West Economic Development committee for 8 years under John Williams’s tenure as Mayor. This committee, in partnership with City staff and councillors, spearheaded many undertakings including the revitalization of downtown Trenton, improvements to the industrial park, the City wayfinding system, City entrance signage, the Farmers Market improvements and the business retention and expansion surveys.
Paul Whitley has demonstrated tremendous commitment to the well-being of the community in which he lives and does business. Paul has been personally involved at the Executive level in such organizations as the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation, Trenton Kiwanis Club, Trenton Memorial Lodge, Hastings & Prince Edward Learning Foundation and numerous industry related councils, just to name a few.
“Paul has had a huge impact on Quinte West and the business community here,” says chamber manager Suzanne Andrews. “Along with numerous donations and volunteer hours, he co-chaired the Trenton Track Quest project to build a brand new track & field facility at Trenton High School & helped fund the building of the boat house for the Trenton Rowing and Paddling Club. He has been an active and supportive member of the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce, helping to ensure the organization remained relevant and vital to local businesses.”
The Honourary Life Time Membership is awarded to local business people that have given freely of their time and expertise over the years to contribute to the growth of our community. Past recipients of this award are: Lt. General Howard Graham; Dr. W.A.L.
