About Discount Car and Truck Rentals:
Discount Car and Truck Rentals was established in 1980 in Hamilton, Ontario by Herb and Rhoda Singer. Discovering the need for a car rental company that supported the insurance replacement segment in Canada, these two founders established the Discount brand.
Discount believes in putting people first – that includes all customers, employees as well. Referred to internally as O.P.O.C. (Outrageously Pleasing One Customer), Discount implemented this program to empower their team members across the country to use a small budget per customer to give them an experience beyond their expectations.
As a result, Discount has provided customers with items for their travels, birthday surprises, sports memorabilia, tickets and more. Today, Discount team members share their stories with everyone across the country, which continues to ignite a flurry of creative ideas.
