Quinte West ON: Family Farms Chicken & More Store has set up shop in Quinte West. This family run business is ‘farm-to-table’ in the true sense of the phrase; having always been committed to promoting the value of Canadian chicken and the importance of knowing where food comes from. While owner Yolanda Ellis maintains the daily operations, her brother and co-owner, Tim Klompmaker, continues to support with his efforts locally as an active farmer, and at a national level as the Chair of the Chicken Farmers of Canada. “We have resided in the Quinte area and operated farms here our entire lives,” said owner, Yolanda Ellis. “Working side by side as a family is something we pride ourselves on. We now see the fourth generation of our family farming and following in the steps of our parents and grandparents. In a full circle effect, our grandparents originally owned and operated a little grocery store in The Netherlands before immigrating and starting the original farm homestead here in Quinte.”
Family Farms Chicken & More Store is focused on providing the community with affordable options for sourcing meals, frozen foods, organic alternatives, and local fare. With an emphasis on the industry they know best, they will always carry a large selection of chicken options as well as other fresh and frozen products including vegetables, fruit, cheese, ice cream, preserves, meals and many more locally sourced items.
