The Quinte West Chamber of Commerce welcomed over 100 members of the local business community last week for its annual President’s Dinner & Annual General Meeting. The evening brought together business leaders and community partners for a night of reflection, recognition, and forward-looking discussion.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Chamber’s prestigious Honorary Lifetime Membership to Mike Eden and Nickey Eden of Homestead Marketplace. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the local business community through leadership, innovation, and community involvement.
The Edens, third-generation business owners, were celebrated not only for their entrepreneurial success but also for their deep commitment to community-building in Quinte West. Through their work, they have expanded and reimagined local retail while creating a destination that brings together shopping, dining, and community experiences.
Chamber CEO Suzanne Andrews noted that while the couple may not seek recognition, the award reflects the community’s appreciation for their impact. The Edens, in turn, expressed gratitude and humility in accepting the honour, emphasizing their passion for the region and its continued growth.
The evening also marked a moment of transition, as it was one of the final President’s Dinners attended by Andrews in her role as CEO ahead of her planned retirement later this year, closing out a remarkable tenure of leadership within the organization.
As one of the Chamber’s signature annual events, the President’s Dinner & AGM continues to serve as an important opportunity to celebrate local success, strengthen connections, and reinforce the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to supporting business growth and community development across Quinte West.
