The Pregnancy and Family Care of Quinte West (PFCQW) is thrilled to announce the official opening of their new space in Trenton. After 12 years of serving the community, it was time for PFCQW to expand into a new location. “Over the past few years we’ve seen the challenges faced by young families and expecting parents in the region intensify,” said Executive Director, Jessie Kuipers. “We realized the necessity for a larger space to better meet the demands of those we serve and as a result of the generosity of the community, one million dollars was raised to make the new location a reality. PFCQW’s new centre is a testament to this region. We saw a need and we came together to help others.”
PFCQW is committed to supporting families and individuals through a variety of free services designed to alleviate the burdens of parenting and pregnancy. Their offerings include essential items such as children’s clothing, maternity wear, formula, diapers, and other baby supplies. Beyond material support, they provide Peer Advocate Counselling, Options Counselling for Unexpected Pregnancies, and referrals for professional counselling and OBGYN services. Some of their in-house classes include pre-natal care, parenting, a wellness class for women, and 200 online mini classes for pregnancy and parenting that can be sent to your mobile device. They also connect their clients with community resources such as food banks, shelters, and job search assistance. The centre serves as a drop-in space where anyone struggling with the challenges of parenting can find support and guidance.
The PFCQW’s new centre is located at 35 Ontario Street, Trenton. Their hours of operation are Monday to Thursday from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
