After years of dreaming, training, and building a foundation in the meat industry, local resident Tyler Mifsud is proud to open the doors to Fat Heads Meats, a family-owned butcher shop dedicated to quality products and service. Born and raised in the Quinte region, Tyler’s journey began at age 15 working at Metro in Trenton, eventually leading to specialized training as a meat cutter and mentorship under seasoned butchers. “Since the day I started cutting meat, I’ve dreamed of opening my own butcher shop,” says Mifsud. “With the support of my family and my brothers joining me in the business, it’s incredibly meaningful to open a space that’s rooted in our love for food and commitment to our community.”
Fat Heads Meats offers an extensive range of top-quality fresh and frozen meats, including steaks, roasts, homemade burgers, in-house sausages, and specialty stuffed items. Customers will also find fresh pork and chicken cuts, deli meats, and handmade sandwiches. Beyond meats, the shop features a curated selection of produce, bakery items, dairy products, marinades, and special seasonings. Fat Heads will also take custom orders, ensuring that even if it’s not on the shelf, they can source it for you.
Mark your calendars for their Community Grand Opening event on Saturday, August 9th from 9:00am to 6:00pm, featuring food, samples and local industry partners.
Located at 421 Dundas Street West in Trenton, Fat Heads Meats is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 6:00pm and Sunday from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
