Quinte West – Tasteful Trends Café & Cakery is officially opening its doors December 18 after winning the Trenton DBIA’s Win This Space Downtown Trenton contest.
Quinte West residents Cassandra and Jesse McMaster, a professionally trained baker and Red Seal Chef, owned a small at-home business but always dreamed of owning and operating a storefront family café and bakeshop.
“It’s the relaxed setting that welcomes everyone and allows the opportunity to highlight artisan skills we both love and strive to learn more,” says Cassandra. “Quinte West has a great family atmosphere that matches our lifestyles so well, we purchased our first house in Trenton and it has always felt like home. The idea to open a family shop has been a thought for years.”
When they saw the Win This Space contest, the pair felt compelled to try to make their dreams a reality. The contest is designed to give a budding entrepreneur an opportunity to open a storefront in Trenton’s downtown corridor.
“We are tremendously grateful to win the competition,” says Cassandra. “Our whole brand is built around customization and current trends.”
Tasteful Trends features a variety of baked goods, scones, muffins, pastries and cupcakes. It also offers daily artisan lunches of homemade soup, salad and sandwiches, classic high tea parties and custom cake orders.
Catering options are available for weddings, business lunches and private parties as well as virtual cooking classes.
Tasteful Trends Café and Cakery is open three days a week, Thursday to Saturday from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., located at 56 Quinte St. Downtown Trenton.
