The Quinte West Chamber of Commerce (QWCC) is pleased to announce the opening of the Quinte West Business Centre, which is co-located at 97 Front Street along with the QWCC offices and Quinte West Visitor Services. This new area of operations will offer a brand new board room & meeting space, along with two flex offices that can be rented by the half or full day. These spaces come with WIFI, phones, furnishings, reception and many other amenities that businesses would need. “With Quinte Access moving into a new location at 30 Pelham Street the opportunity was there for us to expand our operations to provide a variety of meeting spaces for the Quinte West business community,” said Paul Moran, past-president of the QWCC and the committee chair on the renovation project. “We have noticed an increase in home based and mobile businesses in our region who do not need permanent office space and see this as an opportunity to provide professional spaces on an occasional basis.”
The renovations would not have been possible without the support of Trenval Business Development Corporation. The cost of the renovations was $29,000 with an additional $7,000 spent on furnishings for a total project cost of $36,000. Through the EODP Community Innovation Program, Trenval contributed a grant of $10,000 and also provided a low interest business loan of an additional $20,000. “Trenval is pleased to support the chamber with this funding to create the business centre for all businesses to access. This centre will contribute to the local need for flexible business space for entrepreneurs. As the managing partner of the Small Business Centre, which will occupy an office two days a week to assist with business information and counselling, it is the perfect place for us to co-locate”, said Amber Darling, Executive Director of Trenval. Also offering services from the Quinte West Business Centre is Bay of Quinte MPP Todd Smith, who operates a satellite constituency office on Wednesdays.
The Quinte West Chamber would like to thank the following contractors & vendors for the exceptional work that was done on this project and the quality of the products they supplied: Absolute Contractors; Priester Electric; MHS By Design; Digital Underground; Randall’s Office Supplies; Blackbird Stone & Tile, Workspace Office Solutions and ChoiceCom Networks & Communications. “This project ran smooth from the very beginning and was completed on time by the member businesses that we worked with us on this project,” said Suzanne Andrews, General Manager at the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce. “We can’t wait to show people the new space and hope this will provide a necessary service to the business community.” To book a space or arrange a tour call the QWCC at 613-392-7635 or email info@quintewestchamber.ca
