After the pandemic derailed their careers in the live theatre industry, John and Jennifer found themselves at a crossroads. “We have always been passionate about storytelling and transforming spaces,” said Jennifer, “so we rechannelled our interests into creating a unique boutique houseboat rental experience.” Having moved to Quinte West to be closer to their ailing parents while maintaining proximity to Toronto, John and Jennifer have embraced their new community and are thrilled to introduce their innovative business to the region.
H2O Getaways offers a first-of-its-kind boutique houseboat rental service along the lower half of the Trent-Severn Waterway, from Lock 1 in Trenton to Lock 21 in Peterborough. Their renovated houseboats come equipped with modern amenities including upscale linens, bow and stern thrusters, and other comforts that ensure a stress-free and rejuvenating escape. Ideal for families, couples, and small groups of friends, H2O Getaways offers weekly rentals throughout the May to October season, with 4-day weekend rentals available in the spring and fall. This unique service provides a fresh perspective on Quinte West and Trent Hills, making it a great alternative to traditional cottage rentals.
