Owned and operated by longtime Quinte West resident Scott Sexsmith, The GE3K SHACK specializes in Harry Potter and carries many types of fandom including Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, Start Trek and Star Wars.
Scott said he’s been interested in sci-fi and fantasy his whole life and became addicted to Harry Potter while reading the books to his daughter while they were being released. After starting out at a local flea market in 2019, Scott always had the intention of opening a brick-and-mortar shop which became a reality in late 2020.
“I chose Trenton as the location for my store because it’s a moderate sized community with a small-town feeling, which I try to emphasize by welcoming all who come through my door,” said Scott. “I don’t bring my passion to the public, the public brings their passion to me. Everyone geeks out about something whether it’s art, music or a movie series. I try to share in that and my store is my personal GE3K SHACK.”
After going through the COVID lockdowns and stages, Scott is ready for the official reopening of The GE3K SHACK, located at 36 Dundas St W, downtown Trenton, open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on The GE3K SHACK, contact Scott at 613-392-3787.
