Turbo Auto Parts, a one-stop auto parts store has opened its doors in Trenton. Rajinder Dhillon and his family have travelled through the area many times on their way to Ottawa but never really stopped. With real estate prices in the GTA continuing to climb, Raj like many other investors looked outside of Toronto to locate their businesses. With a lower price tag and reasonable taxes, properties in places like Quinte West have become very attractive. “One day I came to look at some properties in this area and fell in love with Trenton,” said Dhillon. The move came as a shock to his family and friends because he did not know anyone from Trenton, but Dhillon convinced them it was a good idea, saying “I know everyone in this town because we are all Canadian, isn’t that enough?”
Born in India, Raj moved to Canada at the age of 14 with his three younger sisters after a drunk driver killed both parents years earlier. With the support of an uncle who already lived here, he settled in Windsor with only $100 in his pocket and the determination to succeed. While helping to run a gas station owned by one of his family members, they were approached to open a parts store and offered the necessary training. Since then Dhillon has successfully managed five stores in Toronto and loves the car parts business. “I am grateful to have been allowed to succeed in such a great country,” he said, “I thank my wife Manjeet, and sons Mikey and Sumo for their support, my former teacher who was so encouraging and the lovely people in this town who have helped me and my family to feel like we are part of the community.”
Raj has been in the car parts business for 25 years and is passionate about great service and great prices. Turbo Auto Parts carries parts for all the major domestic and imported brands from the paint to the body, from suspension to electronics. “We give you the service you really deserve at the best price out there,” said Dhillon.
