A locally owned business, serving the Quinte West area and Ontario for over 25 years, Dr’s Choice Optical Lab recently celebrated a new milestone: The Official Opening of their brand new, state-of-the-art Lens Manufacturing Facility.
Dr’s Choice Optical Lab has been a small, family-owned local business that offers personalized, high quality premium eyeglass lenses to customers throughout Ontario. President Tom Aquino had a vision to transform the lens manufacturing business when he upgraded the company from a small in-house optical lab into a fully equipped wholesale lens manufacturer. Over the past two decades, they have experienced significant growth, continuously reinvesting in their business to maintain competitive edge.
The new facility makes lenses for glasses and sunglasses with a new robotic assembly line that improves the speed and quality of the products. With support of the Eastern Ontario Development Fund (EODF), the project invests in growing advanced manufacturing in Quinte West and creating jobs for the community. As one of the few independent Optical Labs remaining in Canada, the opening on June 25th was a unique opportunity to see how lenses are made from start to finish!
