At the General Meeting held on October 2 the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce confirmed their Board of Directors for 2014. There were five vacancies available on the board for the coming year and these were filled by acclamation by the membership at the meeting.
This year there were five nominees received from within the Quinte West Business Community so for the first time in many years there was no election needed. “We always operate with a full board,” says Chamber manager Suzanne Andrews. “There is a definite willingness from within the business community to get involved at the board level to ensure the chamber continues to represent the Quinte West business community.”
Returning to the board for his third term is Michael Kotsovos from Tomasso’s Italian Grille and joining the board for the first time is: David McCue from Slip Stop Anti Slip Solutions; Kristina Lane from the Small Business Centre; Andre deVries from Real Mortgage Associates and Meagan Reid from QuintEssential Credit Union.
“The Chamber Board is striving for diversity and ensuring we represent businesses of all sizes and all sectors,” says President Mike Cowan. “We are currently in the first year of our three year strategic plan and I look forward to working with the new directors as they bring fresh ideas to the table and work with us to support and promote the business community here.”
