If your chamber of commerce/board of trade is a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, but is unable to attend the AGM, you can still vote on policy resolutions by allowing another chamber to cast a vote on your behalf.
To grant another chamber permission to vote on your behalf, you must complete the Voting Authorization Form and return it to the OCC by August 30th, either by fax: 416.482.5879, or by email: alexandraschwenger@occ.on.ca.
Why is it important that you fill out the Voting Authorization Form? We need to ensure that federal public policy responds to the needs of Ontario businesses, who have been significantly impacted by the recent economic downturn. Ontario businesses need to speak loudly and, when possible, with one voice at the upcoming Canadian Chamber of Commerce AGM. By sending in your Voting Authorization Form, you give your members a voice on the national stage.
Please direct any questions regarding the Canadian Chamber of Commerce AGM process to Liam McGuinty at liammcguinty@occ.on.ca.
