Community Living Quinte West (CLQW) has moved its administrative offices to a new location in Downtown Trenton. The organization was founded in 1959 by a group of concerned parents who were seeking support for their children with special needs and has since provided services that assist individuals with intellectual disabilities to live, work, and participate as integrated and valued members of the community. “We want the community to know we are alive and well and still running great programs for those who need them,” said Toni Kirby, the Executive Assistant at CLQW. “Our new office is going to make us much more visible in the community and we want to share all the great things we are doing.”
Community Living Quinte West is best known for ARC Industries, a program that stopped running in 2004, and the Club Unity program (previously called COMPASS) which runs out of the Community Participation Hub at their 11 Canal Street location. The organization also offers other programs and supports in the community such as the Residential program, the Supported Independent Living program, and the Family Supports program. Each of these programs offers services and support to help those living with intellectual disabilities fully participate in community life.
The Community Living Quinte West office is located at 22 Front Street, Unit 109. It is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and is committed to providing support and resources allowing every person to exercise their rights, privileges, and obligations as a community member.
