RE: Trenton Business Family Opens New Enterprise
Trenton, ON: Two brothers, Shawn and Trevis Ellis have partnered together to open up a brand new 4000 square foot store on the site of the former L.A. Video. This new store called Urban Liquidation will sell a variety of items at 50% off or better including clothes, toys, tools, small household appliances, camping gear, boots and several other novelty items. “L.A. Video had started to sell small amounts of clothing to sell at a discount price and we decided to take it to the next level and become a huge liquidation store seeing as I had the available space in my building,” said Shawn Ellis, owner of the new Urban Liquidation Store. “We will still rent movies and have about 5000 used movies for sale at $2,” said Trevis Ellis the former owner of LA Video and manager of the new store. “There is still demand out there for videos and we have a regular clientele that enjoy renting movies or picking them up at this great price.”
The Ellis family history shows there has been someone running a business in Trenton since 1886, which is one hundred and fifty years. “We have a strong, proud heritage of being Trentonian’s in business and want to keep it going,” said Shawn. Their parents, Harvey & Lorraine Ellis started the business in 1983 as Ellis Video. In 1995 it was renamed L.A. Video and it was purchased by Trevis in 2007 so his parents could retire. “My dad still comes around to help at the store to this very day along with my mom who makes all the popcorn we sell in the store,” said Trevis.”
Urban Liquidation is located at 33 Ontario Street in Trenton and will be open 9am to 9pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 10pm Friday and Saturday and 10am to 9pm on Sundays. Everyone is encouraged to stop by the store on a regular basis as the stock is always changing and you don’t know what treasure you might find. To contact the store you can call 613-394-3408.
