Kruger Products, headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, employs 2,300 people and operates four manufacturing locations in Quebec, one in British Columbia, and one in Memphis, Tennessee. Some of their most recognized leading brands include Cashmere bathroom tissue, SpongeTowels paper towels, and Scotties facial tissue.
Kruger Products is being recognized at the 2014 Ontario Business Achievement Awards for its Sustainability 2015 initiative. Through this initiative, Kruger has made an open commitment toward making nine improvements to their environmental footprint, against which the company is annually reporting its progress.
The company is also acting as a conduit for thought leadership within the Canadian consumer packaged goods and retail industries. Its Leaders in Sustainable Thinking thought leadership series is a key example of this action.
So what advice does Steven Sage, Vice President of Sustainability and Innovation at Kruger Products, have for other businesses looking to succeed in Ontario? “Ontario is an increasingly diverse population that is seeing quality products and services with a strong perceived value. Understanding consumer and customer needs and providing solutions to those needs allows a firm to flourish within the province.”
In five years time, Kruger Products plans on continuing to be Canada’s market leading tissue products company with further expansion into the US and Mexico. During this time, the company is committed to continually improving its environmental footprint and remaining focused on contributing to the greater community through its corporate social responsibility activities.
